While the majority of STRA properties are booked for holidays, they play a far broader role in Australian and New Zealand communities. 40% of ASTRA members report that their STRA properties are also used for medical, hospital, family care and emergency or insurance stays; workforce, business travel,relocation and transition periods; and major events and conference demand. In some regional areas, this figure climbs as high as 80% of all STRA bookings, highlighting just how essential this accommodation is to keeping communities functioning, particularly where traditional housing or hotel options are limited.
